Climate Change and Energy

Climate Change and Energy

The research entails a prospective analysis of the territorial implications of the expansion of renewable energies at European level. First, by applying input-output methodology, the final electricity and energy demand will be evaluated for a series of countries following a territorial and a consumption point of view (energy footprint i.e.). Secondly, theoretical models will be applied in order to assess the potential need of land- as well as its main characteristics, e.g. irradiance, productivity, etc. – that a system based entirely on renewable energies would require for each country. It is scheduled to perform both static and dynamic (prospective) analysis.
