Luis Javier Miguel González
Professor of the Department of Systems Engineering and Automation at the University of Valladolid since 1997. He has taught Automatic Regulation and Project Management for more than twenty years. He currently teaches undergraduate courses in Systems Dynamics and Ethics in Engineering, and postgraduate courses in Project Management. His lines of research were initially dedicated to automatic fault diagnosis and industrial predictive maintenance. In this field he has directed several research projects with public and private funding, mainly with the CARTIF technology centre, where he held management responsibilities in research teams. From 2004, after a postdoctoral stay at the University of Bergen (Norway), he began a change in his priority line of research towards the application of systems dynamics to the analysis of energy resources and policies, leading in 2015 to the formation of the research group on Energy, Economy and Systems Dynamics. In this current line of research, he has directed five doctoral theses, has participated in two projects of the National R&D&I Plan and another six European projects of the H2020 and Horizon programs. Since 2007, he has combined his research activity with university management activities as director of the Area of International Cooperation for Development at the University of Valladolid. In this field, he has promoted various teaching initiatives, including the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in International Cooperation for Development, as well as research initiatives such as the Observatory of International Cooperation for Development at the University of Valladolid.
