Santiago Cáceres Gómez received the PhD degree in Industrial Engineering and the Bachelor degree in Physical Science (speciality in Electronics) from the University of Valladolid (Spain). He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Electronic Technology, School of Industrial Engineering at the University of Valladolid.He has been a Visiting Professor at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, within the Engineering and Society Program of the Faculty of Engineering, where he has developed the project entitled “Engineering, Society and Public Policies: Educational Innovation and Social Impact Assessment ”

His research interests fall into two broad areas. The first in the field of engineering where he works aspects of Preventive Engineering considering the inclusion of social and environmental aspects in both Teaching and Research and Development.. The second one in the area Science, Technology and Society where he works aspects of social impact of the technology, scientific culture and public participation.
