Recently, the European Green Deal, embodied in the Sustainable Use Regulation (SUR) and the Nature Restoration Law (NRL) currently in the pipeline, has been attacked from a denialist and anti-scientific position, with opponents claiming that these two regulations will have negative consequences for farmers and ranchers, fisheries and society in general. It has even been claimed that these two regulations will threaten food security and employment.
These positions are anti-scientific, and go against what science and the scientific community have been investigating, finding and disseminating lately. That is why several researchers with whom we have close research contacts have decided to write a letter contrasting the claims made by science.
